Managing Director
The position
As the Managing Director of the Holding company you are responsible for the corporate functions and lead together with the management teams of the operating companies the operations of 10-plus small- & medium size enterprises in the Dutch Caribbean that employ several hundreds of employees. This important role requires a strong leader who embodies seniority and demonstrates exceptional leadership qualities. The Managing Director will report to the Supervisory Board and shareholders on results, achievements, and the effectiveness of overall strategic organizational goals.
In this position, you will be responsible for business development, implementing, and monitoring the execution of strategic policies, procedures, and guidelines established by the holding and Supervisory Board. While also being involved in the daily operations of the various enterprises.
You will make informed management and leadership decisions that align with the overall strategy and organizational objectives.
As a leader, you will be expected to inspire and create a collaborative team environment while effectively engaging with various stakeholders to drive business success. It is essential that you have an entrepreneurial spirit and immerse yourself not only in the traditional holding functions
but also in the daily operations of the operating companies . A strong understanding of financial principles is crucial, including the ability to read and interpret annual accounts and financial statements. Ultimately, you will be responsible for realizing strategic objectives that enhance the
profitability and growth of the company, providing leadership together with the management teams of the various operating companies and contributing to the overall organizational goals.
Your profile
You have a Bachelor’s degree, with at least 7 years of entrepreneurial experience of which 5 years in an executive management position managing teams and operations. Experience with acquisitions is desired.
We are seeking a candidate with a hands-on approach and strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of guiding multidisciplinary teams. The ideal individual will possess exceptional organizational and negotiation skills, with the capacity to perform effectively while managing
multiple teams simultaneously. A practical approach is essential, as the candidate will be responsible for driving and enhancing operation. It is important that the candidate can confidently engage with the supervisory board while also being approachable and communicative with employees at
all levels, including those on the shop floor. Additionally, you must either reside in Aruba or be willing to relocate to the island within a short timeframe.
